Updated at 6:00am The night began with a wreck near Churchill Falls. One person injured with non-life-threatening injuries, being cared for at the clinic in Churchill Falls. As a result, we are two teams less nearing the end of the race. A specail thank you to the Cain's Quest SAR teams and CFLCO ambulance for their quick response. One snowmobile caught on fire at Checkpoint 19, Ranger Lake, with no injuries, and only minor damage to the machine, mostly wiring. Extreme cold temperatures have caused the leading teams to backtrack to Ranger Lake for warmth. The 2006 Champions are working their strategy for the last legs of the race, and they are running through the cold temps. Team #21 have gained ground and are jumping up positions. We are now anticipating a late morning/early afternoon finish because of the extreme cold. 13 teams scratched so far!! At this point it is still anybody's race!!
