Terms / Use of Rimrocked

Rimrocked is intended to be used for non-commercial purposes with the exceptions noted below.  To understand fair use of rimrocked, we’d like you to understand what we’re trying to create.  We’re building a community of people who do interesting things and like sharing their experiences.  We want this space to be friendly, accessible and easy to use.  We don’t want to limit self-expression except when it offends other people.  Use the golden rule. 

Commercial Use of Rimrocked

There will be advertising on rimrocked, it will help pay the bills, but we want the advertising to be relevant and interesting to you.  We will be introducing the concept of sponsored links.  We don’t like astroturfing any more than you do, so we’ll be open about what is paid advertising and what isn’t (most of the content here).

Corporate Network Site

You may be a corporate, for profit, government or the like and need to share information in the innovative way that rimrocked enables (see our Case studies for examples).  We would really like for you to use a rimrocked secure corporate account for this.  We’ll charge a fair amount for this, and you’ll realize savings and enable communication in an innovative way that you’ll find saves you time and money.  Your data will be separate from the rest of rimrocked and vice versa

Other Uses – Let’s talk about it

We’re open to new ideas.  If you’ve got a use for rimrocked that doesn’t quite fit into the above, send us a note and we’ll be happy to discuss it.  Maybe you’re a struggling painter who wants to showcase her watercolours, or maybe you’re the next Henry Cartier Bresson walking around Paris with your rangefinder camera capturing decisive moments and would like to showcase your stuff; if it’s interesting and adds to the community we’ll definitely consider it.
